B. J Ashpoles are Engine re-manufacturers based in Bishop's Stortford, they have been trading for over 46 years, and are members of the Federation of Engine Re-manufacturers.

They work all sorts of engines from 1899 onwards, and from single cylinder to multicylinder commercials. In addition to the usual grinding, boring, welding, refacing sort of work, they can also white metal bearings, and have a full precision engineering workshop, so they can cater for gearboxes or any mechanical component.

Their stores can identify and source parts for a wide range of older vehicles. when I wanted a hand-made Stainless Steel Exhaust for my 1950 Chrysler, last year, everyone shied away except Hayward & Scott. They took off the old system, band-sawed it down the middle, lengthways to work out its construction and then fabricated a new and identical 16 foot long unit, complete with it's 5 foot long silencer box and 2.25" diameter pipework, from the engine to the tailpipe. It took four days to complete and the total cost, including fitting, was £600 inc VAT. It purrs like a Rolls-Royce.
