Hatfield Heritage Vehicle Society 2004 Classic Car Rally Photos

     Page updated 7th NovemberJuly 2004

We held our first classic car rally at Birchwood Leisure Centre on Saturday 12th June, which was well attended by over 120 Vintage, veteran & Veteran Classic cars & motorbikes. The show was also supported by many trade and autojumble stalls, along with the bouncy castle, kiddies go-karts and the Barmy Army -  that grand collection of lunatics in their tracked and wheeled army vehicles of all shapes and sizes. The MG Owners Club put up a fine collection of cars as did the Citroen Specials Club with their 3 wheel wonders.   We saw vehicles from the 1920’s to the 1980’s from America, Europe and all corners of the World – all together a fantastic turnout and a really hard job for the judges. St Albans majorettes were also in attendance and put on good display. Bob & The Bobcats Jazz band provided background music whilst the judging was going on . the catering was provided by Hatfield scout Group.

In all 14 different classes of vehicles were being judged prizes on the day ,many prizes donated by local businesses , Club secretary Colin Croft commented “This was the first show that we had organised and considering the weather was not kind to us, the attendance was fairly good, most people were enjoying themselves looking at the various stands and different makes of cars that we had on display, most of the competitors had commented what a good venue this was and are looking forward to next year. We are now planning for a bigger and better show in 2005
